About

Built by makers,for makers.

ListingGuru is built by a six-figure Etsy coach and a thirty-year engineer who got tired of every "optimization" tool that wanted to talk about analytics instead of listings.

The story

Alfie Nemeth has spent five years on Etsy. Multiple six-figure shops, a YouTube channel, and a coaching program that's walked thousands of sellers through the same fixes. He could open any listing and tell you in thirty seconds what was holding it back — which words to cut from the title, which tags were dead weight, which photo should lead.

But he couldn't sit in every student's shop at once, and every tool he could point them to gave the same thing: a dashboard. Discoverability scores, percentile rankings, charts. None of it said which words to change in which title. None of it gave a seller the next edit, with a reason.

Scott Macdonald came at it from the other side. Thirty years in tech — search, ecommerce, SaaS, full-stack, the systems underneath all of it. When he started his own print-on-demand and 3D-printed shops, he had the engineering but not the instinct, and stared at his listings the same way Alfie's beginners did: sure something was off, no idea what.

So they built the tool neither of them could buy. Alfie's eye for what makes a listing rank, encoded by Scott into software that reads a listing the way Etsy does, compares it to what's working on page one, and writes the rewrite. Not a chart. A title you can paste into Etsy Studio and a reason it'll beat what's there now.

We run it on our own shops every week — Alfie's six-figure stores and Scott's POD and 3D experiments alike. We write each recommendation the way a friend who's been doing this a while would: plainspoken, specific, defensible. If a suggestion can't survive the sentence "here's why," it doesn't ship.

What changed isn't the advice, it's the delivery. ListingGuru scores every listing across six dimensions — title, tags, photos, niche fit, competitor context, and an optimization plan — then surfaces the single highest-impact fix first. You see the current title, the suggested rewrite, and the specific reason it wins, side by side, before anything touches your shop. No percentile rankings to interpret, no charts to decode: just the next edit and the evidence behind it.

Nothing is applied automatically. Every recommendation is something you read, adjust, or reject, and the wording stays plainspoken enough to act on in the few minutes between other shop tasks. When you do apply a change, ListingGuru records the score before and after, so the effect of each edit stays visible instead of disappearing into a monthly report you never open. That feedback loop is the whole point.
