ListingGuru ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. By using our Service, you consent to the practices described here.

2. Data We Collect

Account Data

When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials (managed securely by Supabase). We do not store passwords directly.

Etsy Data

When you connect your Etsy shop, we access public listing data (titles, tags, descriptions, images, prices, reviews) and basic shop information through the Etsy API. We store this data to provide analysis and track changes over time.

Usage Data

We collect usage analytics (page views, feature usage, session duration) through PostHog. When you are signed in, analytics may be linked to your user account to improve your experience. This data is only collected if you consent to analytics cookies. We do not sell this data.

AI Processing Data

Listing content sent for AI analysis is processed by OpenAI. We do not use your data to train AI models. Processed data is not retained by the AI provider beyond the request lifecycle.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Provide and improve the listing analysis service
  • Generate AI-powered recommendations
  • Display competitor comparisons and search mockups
  • Track usage for billing and rate limiting
  • Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets)
  • Improve the Service through usage analytics (with your consent)

4. Cookies & Tracking

We use the following categories of cookies:

Necessary cookies — required for authentication, session management, and security. These cannot be disabled.
Analytics cookies — used by PostHog to collect usage data. When you are signed in, this data may be associated with your account. These cookies are only set if you provide consent through our cookie banner. You can change your preference at any time.

We do not use marketing or advertising cookies. We do not participate in cross-site tracking or sell your data to third parties.

5. Data Sharing

We share data only with the following service providers:

  • Supabase — database hosting and authentication
  • OpenAI — AI-powered listing analysis
  • Etsy API — listing data retrieval (with your authorization)
  • PostHog — product analytics (with your consent)
  • Scrapfly — public Etsy page fetching for competitor data
  • Netlify — application hosting

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Listing analysis results are retained to show historical scores. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Rectification — correct inaccurate personal data
  • Erasure — request deletion of your personal data
  • Portability — receive your data in a portable format
  • Objection — object to certain processing activities

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), secure authentication via Supabase, input validation, and rate limiting. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
